Role Overview

Volvo Group is looking for a Purchasing Associate to join its Purchasing Support Centre in Bengaluru. About the Team

The Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization function acts as a centre of excellence within Volvo Group Purchasing. The team helps shape strategic purchasing direction, supports digitalization and governance initiatives, improves efficiency, and works across functions to deliver business value. The support centre works with global stakeholders and suppliers, handling tactical purchasing activities for trucks, buses, and Penta sites worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain handler logs and manage standard portfolio tasks, order management activities, and aftermarket requisitions.
  • Coordinate RFQ activities, including launching requests, following up on quotations, and responding to supplier questions together with buyers and cross-functional teams.
  • Review supplier quotes, prepare early-stage quotation summaries and analyses, and build cost breakdowns for different suppliers and parts.
  • Resolve portfolio issues with suppliers and internal teams, including support for supplier price discrepancy cases.
  • Carry out analytical work for buyers and managers, such as price inconsistency reviews, 80/20 analysis, ABC analysis, volume trend analysis, supplier dashboards, material cost reporting, supplier spend studies, part price evolution analysis, cost per kg analysis, and supplier deep-dive analysis.
  • Support supplier integration activities, including EDI setup, supplier portal access, Parma code creation/addition/deletion, supplier base administration, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with taxonomy and segmentation tasks, while maintaining department dashboards and reports for buyers, segment owners, and management.
