Role overview
An established e-commerce brand is seeking a Merchandiser to join its newly formed merchandising function. This is a hands-on position for someone who can step in quickly and help shape product trading plans, working closely with merchandising colleagues and teams across product and design. The goal is to balance customer demand with commercial targets and budget expectations.
Working arrangement
Location: Gloucestershire, UK. The role follows a hybrid pattern with one day working from home.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Compensation
Salary range: £45,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with Product and Design teams to build detailed assortment and category plans, while reviewing market performance.
- Use WSSI and terminal stock controls to manage sales, stock, and open-to-buy planning.
- Show strong knowledge of merchandising systems and how they are used in day-to-day trading.
- Monitor in-season results, recommend actions, and adapt future planning with Product and Design based on performance trends.
- Take ownership of stock planning and ongoing in-season stock management.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and oversee intake and delivery tracking.
- Lead, support, and mentor a Merchandise Assistant.
- Act as a backup for the Merchandising Lead in important meetings when required.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of merchandising experience, ideally in retail or e-commerce.
- Practical experience using WSSI-based merchandising tools.
- Previous responsibility for managing a Merchandise Assistant.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft systems.
- Strong working knowledge of open-to-buy management.
