Lead Planning Engineer

About the Role

Saipem is seeking a Lead Planning Engineer to join its Project Control (PCON) team in Qatar. In this position, you will report to the Project Control Manager and help steer planning activities for offshore oil and gas projects, with a focus on process platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and keep detailed project schedules up to date for offshore oil and gas assignments, especially process platform work.
• Track project progress, spot variances against the approved baseline, and recommend or apply corrective measures.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning teams to keep milestones aligned.
• Carry out schedule risk assessments and maintain the associated risk logs.
• Prepare progress updates on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Assist with contract change control, claims documentation, and delay analysis.
• Contribute to project close-out activities, capture lessons learned, and share feedback with the relevant teams.
• Lead, support, and oversee Senior Planning Engineers and Planning Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects, specifically process platforms.
• Demonstrated experience managing and supervising planning teams.
• English language proficiency is required.
• Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.
