About the Company
Pixel Systems is a compact, fully remote software agency focused on practical business tools rather than consumer-facing products or short-lived marketing websites. The team builds dependable internal applications such as admin panels, CRM integrations, and data migration solutions that help organizations keep operations running smoothly.
The company works in a simple, transparent way: projects are quoted upfront, progress is shared through weekly demos, and the final delivery includes the source code, documentation, and user walkthrough videos. The technical stack is centered on reliable technologies such as Node, React, and Postgres, with an emphasis on stability, maintainability, and real-world usefulness.
Role Overview
Pixel Systems is hiring a Junior UI Engineer to help build front-end interfaces for a major German maritime logistics group. The work will focus on dashboards and data-entry systems used by port operators to monitor container movement and manage vessel schedules.
This is a fully remote position for someone who enjoys creating clean, functional interfaces for complex operational data. The emphasis is on usability, clarity, and dependable implementation rather than decorative design trends.
What You Will Work On
- Converting design wireframes into working React-based interface components.
- Creating data tables that support searching, filtering, and sorting with ease.
- Maintaining consistent CSS across different areas of a large application.
- Connecting front-end forms with backend APIs so information is stored correctly.
- Resolving small UI defects and improving the layout of existing internal tools.
- Joining weekly demos to present the features you have built to clients.
- Preparing simple documentation that explains how new UI elements function.
What We Are Looking For
- A practical understanding of HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts that adapt well to different screen sizes.
- Basic JavaScript knowledge and the ability to describe how data flows through a simple script.
- Interest in building essential but understated software such as admin tools and inventory systems.
- The discipline to work independently in a remote environment and manage your own tasks.
- A preference for simple, readable code over overly clever or complicated solutions.
- Strong communication skills for sharing progress clearly with the wider team.
Helpful Background
- Exposure to React or another modern JavaScript framework through study or personal projects.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control.
- Understanding of APIs and how to retrieve data from them.
- Basic SQL knowledge or awareness of how databases are structured.
- Experience using CSS frameworks such as Tailwind or Bootstrap.
Working Style
The team operates with minimal hierarchy and avoids unnecessary meetings. Because everyone works remotely, clear writing and documentation are important for staying aligned. You will see your work used by real users such as logistics coordinators and warehouse staff soon after release.
The company promotes healthy boundaries, with no expectation to stay online late or join mandatory social activities. Team members are supported by experienced developers and encouraged to focus on reliability, maintainability, and clarity in their work.
Compensation and Employment Notes
This is a paid full-time role. A competitive salary for an entry-level position is offered, but no exact figure was provided.
