Role Overview

The Executive Director for Builders Texas will provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight to expand both national and local initiatives, deepen the Builders mindset across communities, and increase the measurable reach of the organization’s work. This role combines mission execution, fundraising accountability, stakeholder engagement, and leadership of a remote team of 12.

Key Responsibilities

Movement Activation and Engagement

Lead civic programs that mobilize citizens to support Builders’ mission and hold public officials accountable.
Convert online interest into meaningful participation, moving audiences from digital engagement to civic action.
Design and expand educational workshops, training tools, and other resources that encourage flexible thinking.
Build engagement pathways such as credentialing, volunteer initiatives, local chapters, and town halls.

Organizational Development and Team Leadership

Recruit, develop, and guide a high-performing team.
Shape a strong internal culture with clear responsibilities, aligned goals, and professional growth opportunities.
Oversee program budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.

Partnerships, Fundraising, and Civic Engagement

Create and execute a long-term fundraising plan for Texas-based stakeholders.
Pursue support through grants, partnerships, and donor relationships.
Grow grassroots membership and the Movement Partner coalition.
Build effective systems that encourage elected officials to remain responsive to public needs.
Represent Builders Texas publicly at conferences, events, and in interviews with local and national media.

Strategic Leadership and Execution

Work with Builders Media to align media campaigns, civic engagement efforts, and educational programming.
Set up measurement frameworks to evaluate impact and program outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with practical execution. Builders is looking for someone who leads with integrity, empathy, clarity, and accountability, and who can bring people together around shared goals.

Benefits and Compensation

Annual salary in the range of $250,000 to $275,000.
25 days of paid time off, plus 5 sick days and 20 personal days.
