Role overview
Unidade Local de Saúde de Loures-Odivelas is hiring an entry-level Data Insights Analyst to support decision-making in a healthcare setting. This part-time remote position is suited to someone who wants to build experience in healthcare analytics while contributing to operational and clinical improvement.
What you will do
You will help gather, structure, and examine information from clinical, operational, and administrative sources to uncover patterns and support better performance. The work includes preparing clean datasets, producing simple reports and dashboards, and turning complex information into clear visual summaries for different teams. You will also work with stakeholders to understand what they need from the data, document the approach used in analyses, and help improve data quality and reporting workflows over time.
Qualifications
- Good analytical ability and comfort working with both numerical and non-numerical information to reach practical conclusions.
- Basic familiarity with analytics methods and tools, including simple querying, filtering, and charting or visualization.
- Working knowledge of introductory statistics, such as averages, spread, correlations, and basic hypothesis ideas.
- Ability to support data structuring efforts and contribute to straightforward models used for reporting and insight generation.
- Clear communication skills for explaining findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment with strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Comfort using common tools such as spreadsheets and basic BI or visualization platforms; exposure to SQL or Python is a plus.
- Interest in healthcare and a willingness to learn about health data standards, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Education in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Public Health, or a similar field, completed or currently being pursued.
- Collaborative mindset, initiative, and flexibility to adapt to changing reporting and data needs.
