Job Purpose

The role is responsible for maintaining global master data at a consistently high standard throughout its lifecycle. It involves defining, improving, and implementing processes, controls, and tools that strengthen master data consistency and enhance existing systems.

Core Responsibilities

Oversee master data across SCM systems, ensuring strong data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance requirements.
Follow MDG standards, policies, and approval flows to support full auditability and traceability of changes.
Carry out routine reviews, cleansing activities, and validations to reduce duplicate, outdated, or inconsistent records.
Track data quality KPIs, investigate underlying causes of issues, and work with stakeholders to apply corrective and preventive actions.
Assist with data migrations, testing, and post-go-live support while coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related problems.
Spot chances to standardize, automate, and harmonize master data activities so efficiency improves and manual effort drops.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, documentation updates, and user training.
Keep process documents and work instructions current for all master data activities.

Qualifications and Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in Master Data Analyst, Business Systems, or Operations functions.
Good working knowledge of SCM planning, manufacturing, and execution processes.
Exposure to ERP or planning platforms, with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
Advanced Excel skills, along with reporting and data validation capabilities.
Strong communication skills and a detail-focused, disciplined, feedback-friendly approach.
Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional settings.
Experience with requirements documentation, defect tracking, and collaboration tools is beneficial.

Education

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a similar field, from a reputed high-ranking institution is preferred. Strong academics plus analytical and logical thinking are expected. Project Management certification is an added advantage.

Key Relationships

This position works closely with SCM business teams, IT, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, internal customers, and external suppliers.
