Role overview
The NZ Swimming Pool Co. is seeking a driven Business Development Representative to handle high volumes of incoming interest, support field installation teams, and guide customers through the early stages of their pool journey. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys phone-based sales, building rapport quickly, and representing the brand at trade shows and home shows.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many prospects, helping them with initial queries, qualifying their needs, and arranging local site visits with regional dealers. In certain regions, you will also manage the full sales cycle for the self-install plunge pool range, from planning through to closing. The business is expanding quickly under new ownership, creating a strong opportunity for someone eager to contribute in a high-impact role.
What you'll do
- Screen incoming enquiries so customers are directed to the most suitable support and sales path.
- Work closely with regional dealers to pass on well-qualified leads and coordinate next steps.
- Run end-to-end sales for self-install plunge pool customers in selected regions.
- Revisit older leads and reactivate prospects who may still be ready to buy.
- Arrange site visits with local dealers and keep follow-up moving after sales events.
- Host online video meetings to present pool options and pricing clearly.
- Close sales opportunities while maintaining an accurate CRM record.
- Represent the company at ten home shows in 2026 across New Zealand, speaking with both new and existing customers alongside local dealers.
Tools and work environment
You’ll use HubSpot as the main CRM, along with Google Meet and the phone as core daily tools. The office culture is informal, energetic, and performance-focused, with plenty of banter and a strong expectation to deliver results.
What the company offers
The company provides a base salary of $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped commission with expected on-target earnings of $120,000+ in the first year. The package also includes a company laptop and phone, flexibility to work roughly half the time from a dedicated office space in a co-working environment and the rest from home, and access to refreshments including coke, sprite, beer, and wine. Team lunches are also part of the culture.
