About the Role
This position focuses on procuring the goods and services needed to keep operations running smoothly and projects moving on schedule. The role centers on cost-effective buying, on-time delivery, supplier performance tracking, and adherence to internal policies so the business can meet its operational and commercial goals. The ideal candidate brings procurement experience in the Oil & Gas sector, solid knowledge of supply chain workflows, and the ability to manage vendors and purchasing activities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and purchase materials, equipment, and services based on business needs.
- Request and review supplier quotations, compare commercial offers, and negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms.
- Build and maintain productive supplier partnerships to secure quality, dependability, and competitive pricing.
- Track vendor performance and resolve concerns related to product quality, delivery timelines, and service standards.
- Ensure materials are sourced in time to support operational and project deadlines.
- Spot opportunities to reduce costs and apply procurement practices that improve efficiency.
- Raise and process purchase orders while keeping procurement records accurate and up to date.
- Work with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and provide procurement assistance.
- Follow company procurement policies, procedures, and contractual commitments.
- Use ERP platforms, ideally SAP, for procurement operations and reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements and help meet departmental targets.
- Comply with health, safety, and environment requirements and company standards.
- Partner with inventory, logistics, and project teams to maintain smooth material movement and supply chain performance.
- Assist with material planning to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid operational interruptions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years in procurement or a supply chain role.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering with Oil & Gas industry exposure.
- Strong understanding of the full supply chain cycle, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, vendor management, and material planning.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing technical materials, equipment, and services for Oil & Gas operations and projects.
- Professional certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Logistics is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, especially SAP.
- Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration capabilities.
