Role overview
The Security Systems Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting advanced electronic security and access control solutions in enterprise settings. The position calls for practical, hands-on experience with platforms such as Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt, together with a strong grasp of integrated security environments.
The work combines field-based duties with technical support, with the goal of keeping systems reliable, secure, and aligned with client expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and commission enterprise-grade access control solutions.
- Carry out regular maintenance, fault finding, and repair work on security systems.
- Support and administer systems built on Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt.
- Apply system updates, including upgrades, security patches, and firmware revisions.
- Identify and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity within security installations.
- Work with connected solutions such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
- Deliver technical support to clients both at their premises and remotely.
- Follow industry requirements and internal procedures in all service work.
- Keep clear records of installations, service activity, and system settings.
- Work alongside project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians during deployments.
- Contribute input on system design and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Provide user training on system operation where needed.
- Handle service requests and take part in on-call schedules when required.
- Help maintain strong client relationships through professional and dependable service delivery.
Required experience and qualifications
- Solid knowledge of enterprise access control systems and how they are structured.
- Practical experience with one or more of the following: Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and/or Vanderbilt.
- Working understanding of networking basics, including IP addressing, VLANs, and simple diagnostics.
- Familiarity with linked security technologies such as CCTV, intercoms, alarms, and platforms like Genetec or AMAG.
- Ability to read technical drawings and system diagrams.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in client-facing interactions.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively.
- Relevant certifications in Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, Vanderbilt, or similar systems are a plus, though not essential.
- At least 3 years of experience working with enterprise security systems.
- Background in installing and supporting access control systems in commercial or enterprise environments.
- Prior field service or project-based experience is preferred.

This role is based in Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland. The position is full-time and may involve remote support alongside on-site work.
