Restaurant Server

About the Role

Stanley’s Bar and Grill at the Stanley Park Pavilion is seeking an energetic, practical server who enjoys being on the floor, supporting a polished guest experience, and working closely with a team. The restaurant is located within walking distance of Vancouver’s West End and several major visitor attractions, so the pace is lively and varied.

This position focuses on delivering attentive food and beverage service while keeping the restaurant organized, clean, and running smoothly. You’ll greet guests, share menu and beverage knowledge, recommend pairings, provide local information when helpful, and help ensure every visit feels seamless.

Core Duties

• Handle full-service tables, including taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables.
• Deliver meals and beverages promptly and follow wine service steps where required.
• Complete quality checks in a timely manner.
• Look ahead to guest needs and find ways to improve satisfaction.
• Use the restaurant POS system efficiently and complete end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative team atmosphere.
• Follow HAACP and Food Safe standards at all times.
• Work in line with the Team Member Handbook and all related procedures.
• Represent the Capilano Group of Companies knowledgeably and professionally.
• Support a safe workplace with attention to food and beverage safety.
• Take appropriate care to protect your own health and safety, as well as that of coworkers and guests.
• Watch for hazards and report any concerns immediately to a supervisor.
• Ensure you are fit for duty and not impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any other cause that could affect safety.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings one year of serving experience, along with confidence working in a busy restaurant setting. Experience with POS systems, especially Profitek, is considered an advantage. A current Serving It Right certificate is required.

Strong communication skills are important, and multilingual candidates have an added advantage. You should be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive attitude, and working respectfully and professionally with teammates while supporting shared goals.

Working Conditions

• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 20 lbs.
• May need to climb a step ladder or step stool from time to time.
• Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to meet business needs.
• Work may take place in changing weather conditions such as heat, rain, and winter weather.

Compensation

Pay starts at $18.25 per hour, plus gratuities.
