Quality Engineer

Role overview

An established organisation in the nuclear power industry is hiring a Quality Engineer for its London-based operations. Work location and schedule

This is a hybrid role in London, England, with on-site attendance required three days each week.

Key responsibilities

• Put project quality control plans and quality execution plans into practice.
• Make sure suppliers and contractors comply with quality expectations, including CQAPs, ITPs, LTQRs, and contract requirements.
• Plan and coordinate inspections, surveillance tasks, witness points, and testing activities.
• Assist with supplier audits and track the closure of corrective actions.
• Examine manufacturing, construction, quality, and handover documentation.
• Track non-conformances, quality concerns, and lessons learned to drive ongoing improvement.
• Prepare quality reporting and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.

Required background

• Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality control in nuclear or other safety-critical environments.
• Good working knowledge of QA/QC across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 19443, IAEA GSR-2, and broader quality management systems.
• Experience supporting supplier audits and managing supply-chain quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder coordination, and reporting ability.
• HNC, HND, a degree, or an equivalent qualification in engineering, science, or a related field.

Preferred experience

• Exposure to major nuclear projects or other complex infrastructure programmes.
• Additional training or qualifications in quality management or auditing.
