Mechanical Supervisor

Role Overview

An experienced Mechanical Supervisor is needed in Doha to oversee the upkeep, repair, fault diagnosis, inspection, and overhaul of heavy lifting machinery and diesel engines.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance and repair work for mobile cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts/manlifts.
• Supervise diesel engine overhaul and rebuilding activities.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts, inspection activities, and root cause investigations.
• Make sure all work follows HSE requirements and lifting equipment safety rules.
• Guide and support mechanics, hydraulic technicians, welders, and electricians on the team.
• Handle maintenance records, reporting, spare parts coordination, and KPI monitoring.
• Liaise with operations, procurement, OEM representatives, and third-party inspectors to keep work aligned and on schedule.

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy lifting equipment.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Practical knowledge of mobile cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts/manlifts, and diesel engine overhaul.
• Good understanding of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, transmission and brake systems, electrical/electronic control systems, and load handling equipment.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and work from OEM manuals.

Preferred Industry Background

Experience from construction, oil & gas, industrial services, or equipment rental environments is preferred.
