Role Overview
The Learning Experience & Technology Manager will own the full instructional design lifecycle, the tools and platforms used to build learning content, and the administration of the learning management system. This role partners with People & Culture leaders and internal subject matter experts to plan, build, launch, assess, and improve learning programs that support new employee onboarding, role-specific development, and compliance training.
The position also includes day-to-day LMS administration, stewardship of learning governance materials such as standards and templates, and the use of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, analytics, and feedback to improve learning effectiveness. The work will span routine to complex initiatives and will directly support Learning & Organizational Development goals across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with People & Culture and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions are aligned to organizational needs and produce measurable outcomes.
- Own the end-to-end instructional design process for onboarding, role-based learning, and regulatory or compliance education, including planning, development, rollout, evaluation, reporting, and ongoing refinement.
- Coordinate project timelines for new learning requests as well as updates and maintenance for existing courses.
- Keep content libraries in SharePoint organized and maintain learning pages on the company intranet.
- Develop and manage learning governance materials, including design standards, reference guides, and templates.
- Act as the primary administrator and expert user for instructional design software and related technology tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, SnagIt, Canva, and Colossyan.
- Serve as the main administrator and expert user for Workday Learning, managing course content, catalogs, audiences, assignments, and reporting.
- Support Learning & Organizational Development Program Managers with LMS setup, maintenance, and reporting activities.
- Investigate and resolve LMS support tickets, service requests, and incidents.
- Provide guidance to Program Managers on learning content for professional development and employee engagement initiatives.
- Take on additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, instructional design, or adult learning is preferred, or at least five years of experience in adult learning, learning and development, education, or a related area.
- At least 5 years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development.
- At least 2 years of experience administering a learning management system; experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Strong technical capability with Articulate, Camtasia, and Canva, along with solid proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with teammates and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage several projects at once while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
- Comfort working in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment and adjusting priorities quickly.
- Strong problem-solving ability in both instructional design and LMS administration.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Creative mindset with the ability to design engaging and original learning solutions.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and awareness of best practices in instructional design and adult learning theory.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $84,200 to $97,800 per year. Final compensation depends on factors such as experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. In addition to base pay, eligible positions may include short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
