About the Role
Parsons is looking for a Human Resources Representative, Associate to support the New Jersey VIC Program in Hamilton, New Jersey. The role follows a hybrid/remote work arrangement and supports HR operations across 26 locations. This position is hands-on and assists with recruitment, onboarding, staffing documentation, and other day-to-day HR activities. The successful candidate will work closely with HR colleagues, managers, and applicants to help keep hiring processes moving smoothly and to create a positive candidate experience. The role also requires building familiarity with the union environment within the NJVIC program, helping with new hire orientations, and preparing internal reports. It is well suited to someone who wants to grow in HR, enjoys a fast-moving setting, and values a positive workplace for employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. A minimum of 1 to 2 years of HR experience is needed, especially in recruitment and talent management. The role calls for strong knowledge of company policies and HR practices, excellent spoken and written communication, and the ability to manage confidential information carefully. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced union setting, be able to build effective relationships with employees and managers at different levels, and demonstrate strong problem-solving, critical thinking, resourcefulness, and adaptability. Workday experience and a PHR certification are preferred. No security clearance is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate communication between HR staff, managers, and candidates to keep the hiring process organized and efficient.
- Maintain clear and prompt updates throughout the candidate journey.
- Help keep a reliable pipeline of applicants to meet staffing needs across multiple locations.
- Build and maintain a professional, positive experience for candidates.
- Assist with planning and delivering new employee orientation sessions.
- Learn the NJVIC union culture, values, and day-to-day environment.
- Prepare internal reports, organize data, and keep staffing records accurate and up to date.
- Work with HR teams, managers, and candidates to provide smooth support and practical HR solutions.
