Human Resources Manager

About the Role

An established transport and logistics business with a large fleet of trucks and trailers serving East and Central Africa is looking for a seasoned Human Resources Manager to lead the people function. The role calls for a strategic HR professional who can help the company grow by building capability, strengthening employee performance, and supporting a productive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and roll out human resources plans that support wider business goals.
• Oversee hiring, new-employee orientation, succession planning, and workforce capability building.
• Run performance management processes and handle employee relations matters.
• Make sure the organization follows labour legislation and required statutory obligations.
• Supervise payroll processing, benefits administration, and compensation-related activities.
• Design initiatives that improve employee engagement and encourage retention.
• Manage disciplinary cases and resolve employee complaints and grievances.
• Direct training, learning, and organizational development programs.
• Prepare HR budgets, workforce forecasts, and reports for management.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
• Professional HR certification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in human resources is needed.
• At least 3 years should be in a managerial role.
• Background in logistics, transport, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
