General Accounting Analyst

About the Role

In this position, you will play a part in that mission by supporting accounting operations that keep the finance function running smoothly. This role sits within the Finance business function and reports to the Accounting & Reporting Manager - General. The working arrangement is onsite in Bengaluru East, Karnataka, India.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for selected general accounting tasks linked to period-end close activities, including balance sheet work and manual journal entries. Routine or less complex queries are handled by the Global Hub in Bangalore. A key part of this role is checking and approving journals as part of control-related work. You will also work with the R2R core team to support process improvements and policy updates globally. When issues or control gaps arise, you will help investigate the root cause and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant operational teams.

• Carry out general accounting tasks and record financial transactions accurately.
• Complete account reconciliations and dig into discrepancies when they appear.
• Analyze accounting data and prepare reports that support finance-related queries.
• Support month-end close and reporting activities.
• Assist the team leader during audit exercises.
• Handle additional tasks as needed to meet stakeholder requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or have equivalent practical experience. The role calls for 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in general accounting. You should be comfortable working in a team of comparable or larger size, and be able to guide, coach, or train others. Strong knowledge of the end-to-end Record-to-Report process, including the intercompany area, is expected. Working knowledge of SAP is also required.

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business, Economics, or similar experience.
• 5 to 8 years of operational experience in general accounting.
• Proven ability to contribute effectively as a team player.
• Capability to train, coach, and support colleagues.
• Strong understanding of the full R2R process, including intercompany activities.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
