Engineer Maintenance Mechanical - PTA 7 - DMD

Role Summary

This position is focused on keeping plant mechanical assets reliable, safe, and available. The selected engineer will plan, execute, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance work, support shutdown activities, and help maintain compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and budget controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine mechanical maintenance work in line with approved policies, standard procedures, and operating instructions.
• Stay updated on current mechanical maintenance practices and contribute ideas for improving systems and workflows.
• Build daily, weekly, and monthly preventive and predictive maintenance plans in coordination with Production, Technology, and CES teams.
• Prepare manpower and resource plans for regular maintenance work as well as shutdown activities.
• Compile mechanical performance data, track KPIs, and report progress or issues to the maintenance lead when needed.
• Plan and control mechanical spare inventories, obtain approvals, and issue parts for job execution when required.
• Support the discipline manager in identifying spares for purchase and follow up with vendors, procurement, and stores to ensure availability.
• Assist in preparing maintenance budgets and reviewing costs to support efficient use of resources.
• Perform and oversee mechanical maintenance work with attention to quality, safety, and timely completion.
• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance for plant machinery to reduce production or quality losses.
• Assess equipment condition, track operating trends, and address abnormalities to improve equipment availability.
• Complete preservation activities as scheduled to maintain equipment performance and readiness.
• Coordinate shutdown work and ensure jobs are finished on time.
• Conduct regular look-listen-feel inspections to identify early signs of failure and recommend corrective action.
• Work with Production, Quality, CES, EHS, and Technology teams to identify issues and implement improvements to plant health.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis with CES technical support when required.
• Maintain IMS documentation for mechanical maintenance for audits and recordkeeping.
• Take part in reliability and integrity studies of mechanical systems and components when assigned.
• Keep SAP PM and SAP MM records accurate by entering and validating maintenance data, pending jobs, analysis, and costs.
• Coordinate with the workshop team to ensure repair activities are completed on time.
• Support minor project activities whenever required.
• Follow all safety, fire, and environmental rules related to maintenance work and help maintain a safe workplace.
• Monitor machinery for mechanical hazards and take appropriate action to address safety, fire, or environmental concerns.
• Participate in incident investigations with safety teams and help create and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support emergency response activities during safety or fire incidents.
• Prepare audit-related documents, support maintenance audits, and help implement agreed corrective measures.
• Ensure audit timelines are met and follow through on corrective actions for any gaps.
• Support HSEF compliance requirements, including RESOP, MIQA, CFA, and DOSHE mandatory training, and help implement action plans.
• Coordinate and monitor contractor work to ensure adherence to company procedures.
• Ensure all mandatory trainings are completed in line with organizational requirements.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a diploma in Mechanical or Production is required.

Experience

The role calls for 1 to 3 years of plant maintenance experience. Candidates holding a diploma are expected to have more relevant experience.
