Overview
Parsons is seeking a skilled Document Controller to join its team in Qatar. This position focuses on keeping project records accurate, organized, and readily available, while making sure all documents are received, logged, shared, monitored, and filed according to project and client standards. The role works in close coordination with project teams to keep information flowing smoothly across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full document control process for project files in accordance with project procedures and client expectations.
- Scan documents electronically, distribute PDF copies to the right recipients, and upload files into the client’s Contract Management System such as Primavera Contract Management or a comparable EDMS.
- Maintain a physical reference archive so records can be found quickly when needed.
- Use Primavera Contract Management or another electronic document management platform to register, control, and update contract documentation.
- Log and manage correspondence, reports, payment requisitions, variation orders, site instructions, punch lists, and NCRs within Primavera Contract Management.
- Track the progress of submittals, safety reports, RFIs/RFCs, site meeting minutes, progress photos, contract matters, and drawings.
- Prepare routine reports covering pending actions and responses linked to correspondence and submittals.
- Ensure all forms and reports follow standardized client requirements and coordinate with client O&M systems where needed.
- Support project teams by keeping document circulation accurate, timely, and well organized from project start through final close-out.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A diploma or specialized training in document control, project administration, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of document control experience in construction or engineering environments.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience using EDMS platforms, ideally Primavera Contract Management.
- Strong working knowledge of document control workflows from project initiation through close-out, using computer-based systems such as Primavera Contract Management or similar EDMS tools.
- Competent computer skills, including EDMS usage and standard office applications.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- High levels of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when managing large document and data volumes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work experience in the Gulf region.
- Familiarity with client procedures, standards, and systems for document and contract management.
- Experience supporting several projects at the same time in an integrated project services or PMO setting.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
