Data Scientist

Role overview

This remote hourly contract opportunity is for a Data Scientist working with a Canada-based assignment. The engagement calls for a weekly commitment of about 10 to 40 hours and offers pay in the range of $30 to $100 per hour.

What you'll do

• Gather, prepare, and transform datasets from different sources so they are accurate and ready for analysis.
• Design, test, and apply statistical and predictive models that lead to practical business insights.
• Run exploratory analysis to surface trends, patterns, and possible opportunities.
• Build reports and visual dashboards for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver data science projects from start to finish.
• Refine analytical methods and automate data processes to make workflows more efficient.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly through written updates and verbal presentations.

What we're looking for

• Solid grounding in statistics, mathematics, and data analysis methods.
• Hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets, including cleaning and analysis.
• Ability to use Python, R, SQL, or comparable tools for manipulation and modeling.
• Proven experience developing and checking predictive and statistical models.
• Comfort using visualization tools such as Power BI, Matplotlib, or similar software.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, plus careful attention to detail.
