Overview
This on-site opening in Chicago, Illinois is with a banking client through Rangam SourceAbled. The role is suited to candidates who prefer structured, repetitive work, are highly detail-oriented, and want exposure to financial operations.
The position is part of a disability/neurodiversity hiring program intended to create a more accessible and supportive recruitment and workplace experience for job seekers with neurodivergence. This includes, but is not limited to, autism, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, OCD, anxiety disorders, dyslexia, bipolar disorder, and Tourette's syndrome.
The shift is first shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and the pay is $18 to $20 per hour.
Role Summary
The job involves working in a high-volume production setting where accuracy, consistency, and speed matter. You will process payment and document materials, support scanning and data reconciliation tasks, and help keep operations running smoothly while following security and compliance requirements.
Key Duties
- Open mailed items and pull out payments and supporting paperwork so they can be prepared for digitization.
- Arrange, sort, and compile payment records, invoices, checks, remittance documents, and similar files.
- Get documents ready for scanning, imaging, and downstream processing.
- Use high-volume scanning and processing machines while checking that images and documents meet quality standards.
- Enter, verify, and match data and electronic records against paper files.
- Inspect materials for completeness, correctness, and adherence to processing rules.
- Flag, fix, or escalate missing, unusual, or incomplete items to a supervisor when needed.
- Work according to standard procedures, client instructions, security rules, and compliance expectations.
- Manage sensitive financial information carefully and professionally.
- Keep up with productivity, quality, and accuracy targets for both personal and team performance.
- Learn additional processing tasks and equipment functions through cross-training as needed.
- Assist with other production or operational tasks when assigned.
- Be able to lift and move mail trays, boxes, or files weighing as much as 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- No previous work experience is necessary because training will be provided.
- You must be able to clear both a background check and a credit check.
- Comfort working in a secure, high-control production setting is important.
- Basic computer skills are required, including data entry and general PC use.
- Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
- You should be able to function in a fast-moving, production-focused environment.
- The role requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks without losing quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are expected.
- You need to work well independently and also contribute as part of a team.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and eagerness to learn are important.
Preferred Background
Experience in any of the following areas is helpful: data entry, document handling, mailroom operations, records management, administrative support, customer service, healthcare administration, financial operations, or document management.
Prior work with confidential documents and strong time-management skills are also considered assets.
Physical and Work Conditions
This role may require sitting or standing for long stretches, handling and sorting large volumes of documents, and moving items up to 50 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and centered on quality, accuracy, security, and teamwork. Performance is tracked through productivity, accuracy, quality, and attendance. Additional hours may be available during peak processing periods.
