Data Engineer

Role overview

VIPRE Security Group, part of Ziff Davis, is hiring a Data Engineer in Ireland to strengthen backend data operations. The role centers on improving data integration, validation, and operational reliability across business-critical reporting streams. You will help create dependable pipelines that bring together data from systems such as Zuora, RevenueCat, Salesforce, affiliate platforms, and legacy sources into a single, trusted data environment.

What you will do

• Design, build, and support ETL/ELT pipelines that pull data through APIs, SFTP, and external integrations, including Salesforce, Zuora, RevenueCat, affiliate tools, and older systems.
• Work with Salesforce data to enable B2B funnel analysis and attribution reporting.
• Track pipeline health, diagnose failures, fix errors, and keep ETL logic and data models properly documented.
• Compare source data across systems, identify mismatches, and investigate data quality issues.
• Create structured, reliable datasets that feed dashboards, campaign measurement, and lifecycle reporting for cybersecurity brands.
• Carry out validation checks to keep reports and platform data aligned.
• Help build reusable datasets and maintain a healthy data warehouse.
• Use business metrics such as MRR, funnel stages, LTV, and churn to confirm data accuracy.

What we are looking for

• At least 2 years of experience in data processing or data engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
• Practical exposure to Salesforce data through APIs and batch ingestion, ideally using Talend or a similar ETL tool.
• Experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, and Lambda for pipeline development and execution.
• Good understanding of B2B and SaaS metrics and how they support reporting.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and expand into broader data engineering workstreams.
• Preference for candidates with experience in ETL tooling, batch optimization, Redshift transformations, ad/partner data, BI tools, and end-to-end data quality validation.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is €28,000 to €35,000. Final pay will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, education, training, role scope, and business performance.
