Role Summary

This part-time, on-site position in Sydney, NSW is for an Artificial Intelligence Engineer who will create, train, and deploy AI models and pipelines that power the company’s reusable infrastructure and industry-focused products. The work covers model development in areas such as pattern recognition, neural networks, and natural language processing, along with embedding those models into production-ready systems.

What You Will Do

• Develop and train AI models for tasks involving pattern detection, language processing, and other applied use cases.
• Build and maintain pipelines that support model integration into live software environments.
• Work with product, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Create evaluation, tracking, and monitoring setups to measure model performance and reliability.
• Support human-in-the-loop workflows and architectures that are suitable for audit and governance needs.
• Prototype new AI features and contribute to experimentation across the platform.
• Document system designs, model experiments, and technical decisions clearly for future reference.
• Share knowledge and support innovation initiatives within the wider community when needed.

Requirements

• Strong grounding in computer science and software development, with the ability to code in at least one modern language such as Python, Java, or an equivalent language.
• Practical experience with version control, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Proven background in machine learning and pattern recognition, including model building, training, validation, and optimisation for real-world scenarios.
• Hands-on exposure to neural networks and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience working with natural language processing systems, language models, and text-processing pipelines.
• Understanding of production AI systems, including data pipelines, model serving, monitoring, and observability.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related area, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, explain technical ideas clearly, and produce useful documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in applied AI research, MLOps, or AI safety and governance would be an added advantage.
