Crypto Finance Group, which is part of Deutsche Börse Group, develops professional digital asset services for institutional customers. Its business includes Crypto Finance AG, a FINMA-regulated Swiss entity that provides trading, custody, and wallet solutions, and Crypto Finance (Deutschland) GmbH, a BaFin-regulated German company focused on trading and custody. In January 2025, the company obtained a MiCAR license for the European market as one of the first providers in the EU. Crypto Finance AG is also a SIX-approved crypto custodian for ETP issuers.

The role is available immediately, and the office location is either on the 24th floor of Prime Tower in Zurich, Switzerland, or in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Role Overview

You will help operate and evolve a complex, scalable Linux-based infrastructure spread across several data centers and supporting blockchain, cloud, and hybrid environments. The position involves strong focus on reliability, security, automation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Build out and support a large, mixed infrastructure landscape across multiple data centers, including switches, firewalls, HSMs, physical machines, virtual systems, and cloud components.
• Operate and expand existing blockchain nodes as well as newly introduced ones.
• Improve and administer Kubernetes environments.
• Support hybrid infrastructure initiatives.
• Keep backend systems secure and highly available through load balancing and failover setups using HAProxy, Apache, Nginx, and database replication.
• Continuously enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Grafana.
• Track service health after deployment by reviewing availability, latency, and overall system performance.
• Help integrate secure technologies and applications.
• Handle patching and roll out firmware and software updates on an ongoing basis.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code/data assets.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and cloud-native platforms.

Requirements

• A computer science degree or at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on Linux administration expertise; relevant certifications such as LFCS, LFCE, or RHCS are an advantage.
• Strong interest in servers, automation, and IT security.
• Passion for open-source software.
• Solid networking knowledge, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network protocols.
• Practical familiarity with the open-source stack used in the environment, including Linux, Unix, HAProxy, Nginx, Apache, Squid, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Ansible, and Docker.
• Proven background in systems engineering and defensive security, including DDoS protection and intrusion prevention.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• High standards of integrity and attention to quality.
• Cloud exposure with Azure or GCP is a plus.
• Excellent English skills; German is an advantage.
• Knowledge of blockchain technology and crypto assets is desirable.
