仕事内容
Role Overview
This opening is for a Lead Engineer focused on gas path systems within the automotive powertrain domain. The position covers end-to-end technical ownership of intake and exhaust commodity development, from concept approval through SOP, with accountability for design maturity, integration, validation, and readiness for launch.
Scope of Work
The role includes technical leadership for gas path components such as intake systems, ducts, resonators, exhaust manifolds, pipes, mufflers, after-treatment interfaces, and, where relevant, turbocharger and EGR interfaces. The work centers on achieving performance, emissions, durability, cost, and regulatory targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead engineer for gas path commodities across the full KO to SOP lifecycle.
- Take ownership of technical delivery and design for intake and exhaust-related systems.
- Create and maintain system-level and component-level requirements, interface definitions, and technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, packaging, and vehicle integration activities for gas path systems.
- Ensure the design meets emissions, thermal, NVH, durability, and regulatory expectations.
- Run design reviews, make technical decisions, and manage engineering changes.
- Plan and execute DVP&R, validation plans, and testing activities.
- Lead DFMEA activities, risk analysis, and corrective action closure for gas path components.
- Work closely with NVH, thermal, emissions, calibration, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams.
- Handle supplier development, technical reviews, schedules, and issue resolution.
- Support industrialization efforts, manufacturing feasibility, and launch readiness.
- Act as the main technical contact for OEM customers on gas path-related topics.
Experience and Technical Expectations
The role calls for 6 to 8 years of experience and a strong background in leading engineering programs from KO to SOP. Candidates should have worked in system, commodity, or lead engineering roles and bring solid domain expertise in gas path systems.
Required Knowledge
Applicants should understand intake and exhaust architecture, airflow management, pressure loss, thermal behavior, after-treatment packaging, emissions requirements, thermal shielding, NVH, durability, and vehicle/underbody packaging. Familiarity with functional safety, validation methods, manufacturing constraints, and assembly considerations is also expected.
