About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Front-End Engineer with React experience to create front-end-led products and Airtable custom interfaces. This position suits someone who enjoys crafting refined user interfaces, working with operational business workflows, and turning structured data into application-like experiences.

You will partner closely with product managers and solutions consultants to convert requirements into clean, maintainable, and production-ready user experiences.

Key responsibilities

Design and build Airtable Custom Interfaces that function like applications and support real workflows on top of Airtable data.
Develop full UI features using React and TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on front-end implementation.
Convert design concepts into polished, reliable components while keeping usability and visual detail in mind.
Integrate a third-party SDK and connect the front end to the required data sources.
Create reusable UI building blocks, patterns, and standards that improve speed and consistency.
Work in small iterations, delivering high-quality updates and incorporating feedback rapidly.
Communicate clearly in English during technical discussions and asynchronous collaboration.

Technical stack

React and TypeScript
Tailwind CSS
shadcn/ui, or another comparable UI library such as Radix UI, Material UI, or Chakra
Airtable Custom Interfaces and Airtable API
Git and GitHub

Requirements

Proven experience building responsive, functional front-end applications with React.
Strong command of TypeScript and modern front-end patterns.
A product-minded approach to UI engineering, including loading states, edge cases, and performance considerations.
Comfort working with external APIs/SDKs and independently reviewing technical documentation.
Ability to think through data structures and how information moves from the data layer into the interface.
Track record of delivering complete features or applications, not only isolated UI elements.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.

Preferred experience

Prior work on Airtable Custom Interfaces or other internal tools built on Airtable.
Familiarity with relational Airtable concepts such as linked records, rollups, and lookups.
Experience creating design systems or reusable component libraries.
Basic familiarity with testing tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
Experience with internal tools platforms like Retool or Superblocks.

You identify risks early, including UX, architecture, and integration constraints.

Additional information

This is a full-time contract role based onsite in the United States.
