Advanced Formwork Co. Ltd, the authorized Doka distributor and service provider in the Kingdom, is expanding its national operations and is looking for a seasoned professional to strengthen its engineering team. Role Overview
This senior position is based in Riyadh and is responsible for leading the engineering function, developing engineering teams, and ensuring delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-conscious formwork solutions. The role reports to the Head of Engineering and works closely with Sales, Project Managers, field teams, and instructors. It suits a strong technical leader who can balance engineering excellence, people management, commercial thinking, and multi-project coordination in a fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a multicultural Middle East setting. English fluency is essential, while Arabic is a strong advantage. Responsibilities
- Direct, support, and inspire engineering teams handling several projects at once.
- Develop economical and practical formwork approaches aligned with team and business goals.
- Build engineering capability through coaching, training, and structured knowledge sharing.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and engineering deliverables.
- Prepare, review, and approve formwork designs, material schedules, offer drawings, and shop drawings.
- Carry out and validate advanced static calculations and structural checks.
- Make sure proposed solutions are safe, workable, and commercially sound.
- Resolve complex technical and site-related challenges.
- Work with Project Managers, site personnel, and Formwork Instructors on technical matters.
- Support the Sales team with technical advice, presentations, and customer visits.
- Lead client discussions, workshops, and site meetings to present proposals and clarify project needs.
- Coordinate engineering resources with the Head of Engineering for the country.
- Ensure company procedures, policy standards, and engineering practices are followed consistently.
- Monitor compliance with contractual, legal, and safety obligations.
- Promote best practices across all engineering activities and projects.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Substantial background in formwork engineering, ideally gained in Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East.
- Demonstrated success managing engineering teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- At least 5 years in comparable leadership roles, including responsibility for an engineering function in the formwork sector.
- Strong understanding of formwork systems and core engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools in both 2D and 3D, plus project management software.
- Well-developed leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Sharp analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.
- A commercially aware, target-oriented approach.
- Willingness to travel based on business needs.
- English proficiency is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
