What this role is about
The Associate Field Engineer supports equipment maintenance, installations, and repairs at customer sites. The position works alongside experienced engineers and technicians to deliver dependable service, improve working methods, and maintain service quality. It also includes operational support, inventory handling, facility-related duties, and data governance tasks while building technical knowledge in airport services.
Key responsibilities
- Install and set up systems or equipment at client sites according to the required specifications.
- Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and restore equipment or systems in a timely way.
- Carry out routine servicing and repair work to keep equipment operating effectively.
- Guide customers on correct usage and basic maintenance practices for the equipment.
- Keep detailed and accurate records for installations, site visits, and repair work.
- Provide onsite technical assistance and respond to customer questions or concerns.
- Follow all safety requirements while performing installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Continue learning product details and industry developments to improve service delivery.
- Assist with facility maintenance so that systems, equipment, and infrastructure remain functional.
- Comply with safety rules, building requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Track facility assets and equipment inventory accurately.
- Follow emergency readiness procedures such as fire drills, evacuation plans, and disaster recovery steps.
- Observe facility security controls, including surveillance and alarm measures.
- Apply data governance rules from the Data Owner and maintain compliance with standards.
- Watch data quality, consistency, and compliance on an ongoing basis.
- Escalate data-related questions to the relevant subject matter expert.
- Manage parts, tools, and equipment inventory for field operations.
- Monitor stock movement through inventory systems and help prepare reports on levels, usage, and trends.
Experience required
The role calls for at least 7 years of experience in onsite support and in repairing PCs, printers, and airport service equipment. Direct customer interaction and delivery against contractual service levels are required. Experience in the airport or airline sector is preferred.
Education and certifications
A diploma or certificate-level qualification in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent IT qualification is required. Helpful certifications include CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+), CompTIA A+, basic safety/compliance credentials such as OSHA 10-Hour Construction or General Industry, foundational networking knowledge such as CompTIA Network+ or equivalent, and ITIL Foundation.
