VC Scout

Overview

CVX is looking to build a network of high-caliber venture scouts who can help uncover promising investment opportunities within their own areas of expertise. This role is suited to people who are excited by entrepreneurship, enjoy market exploration, and want to contribute to the growth of ambitious companies.

Note that this is not a standard full-time position. Compensation is success-based, with remuneration linked to outcomes achieved through the opportunities you bring forward.

What the programme offers

Through the Venture Scout Programme, you will gain practical exposure to venture capital and strengthen the core skills used in investment work. You will also have the chance to connect with founders across your market, learn how early-stage opportunities are evaluated, and help influence future investments.

Role overview

As a Venture Scout, you will be expected to identify attractive startups, engage with them directly, and carry out detailed research on the company, its team, its market, and its competitive landscape. After analysing your findings, you will prepare a 1-2 page investment memo that presents your thesis and may be invited to share your recommendation with the investment team either in person or online.

What the programme is designed to do

In addition to sourcing deals, the programme is intended to help CVX learn more about you, your judgment, and your approach to investing. If you are interested in eventually joining the investment team, this programme is a strong entry point into the VC ecosystem and a way to demonstrate how you think, analyse opportunities, and communicate your ideas. As the investment team expands, this programme will be the first place the company looks for future hires.

Compensation

You will be paid when a deal you introduce and advance to the investment team goes on to receive funding from CVX's investor network. There is also potential to participate in the upside connected to successful deals.
