Security Supervisor

Role overview

SOKONI AFRICA LTD is hiring a Security Supervisor to oversee site security operations at its Kampala location. This position focuses on protecting people, property, and assets while maintaining a safe, orderly, and guest-friendly environment.

Key duties

• Lead and coordinate security guards across all working shifts.
• Carry out frequent patrols throughout the hotel property to maintain safety standards.
• Observe CCTV feeds and other security equipment to detect risks or unusual activity.
• Record, review, and investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints related to security.
• Make sure hotel security rules and operating procedures are followed consistently.
• Act quickly during emergencies, disturbances, and fire alarm situations.
• Support evacuation planning and emergency response when needed.
• Compile security updates and reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Oversee access control processes and stop unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Coach, guide, and assess the performance of security team members.
• Work with police, law enforcement, and emergency responders whenever required.
• Help maintain a secure, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff.

Requirements

• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Public Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in security-related work, ideally within hospitality, corporate, or institutional environments.
• Prior experience in a supervisory role will be considered an advantage.
• Background training in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Security Operations is preferred.
