Purchaser (Ship Stores)

Role Overview

HK MARINE PTE LTD is looking for a Purchaser to manage the sourcing and buying of ship stores and marine-related supplies in Singapore. The role focuses on keeping vessels supplied with the right materials at the right time while maintaining cost efficiency, quality, and compliance with company and industry standards.

Supplier Sourcing and Relationship Management

You will identify dependable suppliers and vendors for marine provisions, spare parts, safety gear, and other chandler goods. The job involves comparing options, negotiating commercial terms, and building long-term supplier partnerships that support steady supply and favorable pricing.

Procurement Planning

This position requires close monitoring of inventory levels and forecasting purchasing needs based on vessel schedules and client requirements. You will work with warehouse and logistics teams to keep stock available and prepare procurement plans that fit operational priorities and budget limits.

Purchase Order Processing and Follow-up

You will create purchase orders, dispatch them to suppliers, and monitor each order through to delivery. The role also includes following up on delays or issues and making sure received goods match the required quality and specifications.

Cost Management and Records

You will review pricing patterns to find opportunities for savings and cost control. Accurate record-keeping is part of the job, including maintaining documentation for purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supplier performance.

Compliance and Documentation

All procurement activity must follow company policies, industry expectations, and relevant regulatory requirements.
