Line Cook

Overview

Mary Brown's Chicken is hiring a line cook for its location in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a full-time, on-site role at a fast food outlet, where the work must be done in person with no remote option.

Language Requirement

A secondary school graduation certificate is needed.

Experience

The role calls for 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Work out food portion sizes and related costs.
• Create menus and estimate the ingredients and supplies needed to prepare them.
• Request food items and kitchen supplies as needed.
• Prepare and cook full meals as well as individual dishes.
• Prepare food for customers with allergies or dietary intolerances.
• Review kitchen and food service areas for cleanliness and compliance.
• Train team members in food preparation, cooking, and safe handling practices.
• Place orders for supplies and equipment.
• Oversee kitchen staff and helpers.
• Track inventory and keep records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and work areas.
• Coordinate and manage day-to-day kitchen operations.
