Role overviewThis position is for a Global Product Manager focused on the Coatings & Construction segment, based in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. The role is responsible for steering the product portfolio, improving profitability, and coordinating product decisions across regions, plants, and functions.The position calls for ownership of product mix optimization, portfolio rationalization, specification updates, and the launch of new products. It also acts as a central point for market mapping, opportunity tracking, customer feedback, competitor monitoring, and market intelligence. In addition, the role connects regional teams and global functions to help successful ideas move faster across markets.Job purposeThe main objective is to manage the product portfolio with a strong focus on profitability by industry, customer, and SKU. The role also supports product rationalization and works with multiple manufacturing sites to improve product mix and overall business performance.Key responsibilitiesShape the global and regional product strategy for the assigned portfolio, with emphasis on priority segments and growth products.Create and execute a multi-year product roadmap that reflects industry trends, product segment needs, and market requirements.Work with regional teams to anticipate product life cycle changes and take action to protect and improve profitability.Coordinate with global sourcing, operations, and related support teams for product planning and raw material planning.Collect, analyze, and apply market intelligence to strengthen commercial and product decisions.Engage with customers, their customers, universities, and R&D partners to understand evolving end-user needs.Plan and conduct secondary research for specific segments and regions, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to build actionable insights.Prepare reports and recommendations based on market research findings and business observations.Support business leaders with insight-driven ideas for growth, product replication, and launch opportunities.Benchmark competitors, markets, and segment performance across regions to identify opportunities and threats.Build regional pricing strategy and share pricing guidance with global and regional stakeholders.Prepare monthly price variance analysis, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions to improve profitability.Monitor key raw material price trends and share updates with the sales team each month.Translate customer requirements into launch-ready product plans and coordinate new product development with SCM, R&D, and planning teams.Define the annual new product plan and communicate it to regional teams.Review the new product pipeline every quarter with R&D and align external resources to support core business growth.Work with R&D and customers to identify strong differentiators and convert them into technical literature, presentations, leaflets, and success stories.Collaborate across regions and functions to share best practices and enable quicker global replication of successful initiatives.Partner with manufacturing plants to rationalize the product mix for stronger profitability.Experience neededThe role requires 18 to 22 years of relevant experience.LocationPrabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.Additional informationThis role involves close coordination across sales, sourcing, operations, SCM, planning, and R&D.
