About the Role
This position is part of the site finance function and reports to the Finance Director. It is a practical, hands-on leadership role focused on keeping the finance operation running smoothly each day, while also supporting wider business initiatives and growth.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of site financial and operational performance reporting, including analysis and presentation of results.
- Run the day-to-day finance activities for the location with strong controls and governance in place.
- Lead, coach, and support a team covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and reporting.
- Oversee intercompany activity and ensure reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Own the month-end close cycle and deliver accurate reporting on time.
- Perform detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Manage tax matters including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax, while ensuring compliance with Revenue requirements.
- Provide financial insight and strategic support to the Finance Director and senior leadership.
- Maintain balance sheet accuracy through strong reconciliation and review processes.
- Supervise cash flow management and working capital efficiency.
- Strengthen and refine internal controls, policies, and finance procedures.
- Lead the annual group and statutory audit process and act as a main contact for external auditors and tax advisers.
- Support ongoing improvements in systems, processes, and reporting.
- Develop team members and help build capability within the finance function.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Qualified accountant status such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a comparable role within a fast-moving multinational setting.
- Previous responsibility for managing a finance team of 5 to 10 people.
- Strong knowledge of intercompany accounting.
- Solid understanding of accounting frameworks including US GAAP and FRS 102.
- Broad experience using ERP platforms such as JD Edwards and Oracle.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and strong on administration.
- Confident with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Commercially aware with strong problem-solving ability.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines and levels.
