Overview
MG2, part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is hiring an entry-level Designer for its Community Environments team in New York, NY. This position offers the chance to contribute to the planning and delivery of vibrant, healthy mixed-use communities.
In this role, early-career design professionals support the creation of design solutions with a strong focus on design documentation, material selection, technical drawing production, and design research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well with others, and is genuinely interested in design.
Responsibilities
- Help prepare design outputs such as field surveys, concept renderings, exhibits, early-stage plans, construction documentation, and project specifications.
- Build working knowledge of concept design, design development, and construction documentation, including code analysis, floor plans, elevations, sections, interior design documents, schedules, and detailing.
- Support project administration by preparing meeting agendas and minutes, maintaining project trackers, and producing design logs.
- Complete assigned work accurately and on schedule in line with weekly work plans and guidance from the team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or a closely related discipline.
- 0 to 3 years of professional experience in an architecture or interior design firm.
- A basic understanding of how a professional design practice operates, along with a strong interest in the field.
- Comfort using Revit, SketchUp, and MS Office.
- Exposure to design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, V-Ray, and Enscape.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for written job communications as well as verbal instructions and collaboration.
Compensation
The expected pay range is $63,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
