Role Overview

The organisation is looking for a Building & Engineering Technician to support the smooth operation of its property maintenance function. This role is about much more than routine repairs; it is focused on creating exceptional guest experiences, keeping the hotel in top condition, and helping the property operate safely and efficiently.

In this position, you will work as part of the maintenance team, supervise Maintenance Assistants, and set the standard through hands-on support, practical problem-solving, and a proactive mindset. You will contribute directly to guest satisfaction, safety standards, and the overall upkeep of the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep building systems and property equipment functioning properly so the hotel consistently meets high service standards.
• Support the maintenance team by supervising Maintenance Assistants and leading by example.
• Handle a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks with a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Work proactively to protect guest satisfaction, health and safety, and the efficiency of the maintenance department.
• Contribute to a professional, well-maintained, and welcoming hotel environment.

Qualifications and Attributes

The ideal candidate should bring flexibility, a positive “Yes I Can!” attitude, attention to detail, creativity in solving problems, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service. The role also requires strong teamwork and clear verbal communication, along with a sense of enjoyment and energy at work.

Previous experience in a similar role is helpful, but it is not mandatory.
