Role overview
Freedom Group is seeking a motivated Jointer’s Mate with experience at any voltage level to take the next step in a structured career pathway. This opportunity is designed to help you develop into a qualified LV Services / LV Mains Jointer, with further training available to progress through to 11kV and 33kV authorisations once you are approved at LV level.
The role is based across SPEN Manweb, SPEN Central & South, and NPG West Yorkshire & South Yorkshire. It is a full-time position offering competitive pay with progression-based salary growth.
What the job involves
- Assisting jointers with the installation, upkeep, and repair of LV network equipment.
- Supporting excavation work, handling materials and tools, and preparing cables for jointing activities.
- Working in line with health, safety, and operational procedures to help maintain a safe site.
- Building technical capability and practical experience to support future jointer authorisations.
Career development
This position comes with a clear development route and access to in-house learning support. You will benefit from the organisation’s jointing school, guidance from experienced LV and HV jointers, and a progression path towards authorised jointer status.
As your experience grows, there may be opportunities to move into roles such as LV Services / LV Mains Jointer, LV Switching / Linking, HV Jointer, Senior Jointer, or Field Supervisor / Team Leader.
