Role Overview

As a member of the PlayStation development tools team, you will develop software used daily by thousands of game developers, testers, artists, and producers. This role has a strong focus on enhancing video streaming technology, a vital product especially since remote work became widespread. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality solutions and have an opportunity to grow by learning, ideating, and refining your design and coding capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze client requirements to create robust and maintainable designs.
  • Deliver development tasks on schedule, ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Engage in code reviews and documentation verification.
  • Estimate effort and timelines for assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with technical writers to support documentation creation.
  • Assist support engineers in resolving customer-related issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in C# and/or C++ in a commercial software development context.
  • Experience with .NET frameworks, WPF, or Avalonia UI technologies.
  • Skill with React library for frontend development.
  • Commercial experience designing desktop user interfaces.
  • Deep understanding of concurrency concepts and associated design patterns.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and unit test creation.
  • Confidence using Git for version control.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Electron (Node.js) platforms.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and web technologies such as HTML/CSS.
  • Background in cross-platform application development across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Exposure to Reactive UI frameworks.
  • Knowledge of gRPC communication protocols.
  • Experience with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC).
  • Working with PostgreSQL databases.
  • Using xUnit or similar testing frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role is estimated between €69,500 and €104,300 EUR, adjusted according to geographic location, skill set, experience, and hybrid working arrangements. The position is eligible for Sony Interactive Entertainment's premium benefits package, which includes paid leave, wellness programs, and exclusive employee discounts on Sony products. Bonus packages may also be available.
