Data Analyst

Overview

We are recruiting for a Haystack partner for a Data Analyst role based in Baltimore, MD. This position focuses on turning business goals into technical solutions, particularly within business intelligence and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert business needs into clear technical requirements and specifications.
• Build, improve, and support enterprise-level Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
• Analyze SQL queries, identify issues, and optimize them for better performance.
• Check report outputs carefully to ensure data accuracy and strengthen confidence in BI deliverables.
• Carry out source data analysis, including data profiling, validation, and both conceptual and logical data modeling.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and contribute creative ideas for better business outcomes.

Required Background

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems is required.
• At least 2 years of hands-on Power BI development experience is needed.
• Overall BI-related experience of 5 years or more is expected.
• At least 3 years of SQL experience using relational database management systems (RDBMS) is required.
• Experience working in Agile environments and with data modeling is required.
• Strong data visualization skills and the ability to use Power BI or similar BI platforms are important.
