Role Summary
The Associate Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing inventory performance across multiple stores. This includes maintaining strong stock governance across third-party logistics operations, owned distribution centers, and dark stores. The role focuses on high inventory accuracy, shrinkage control, stock optimization, and the standardization of processes across countries.
Acting as a central control tower, this position aligns supply chain, warehouse operations, finance, commercial, and store teams to protect margins and improve working capital efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep inventory records accurate by regularly matching physical stock with system records.
- Detect, investigate, and close stock gaps and shrinkage patterns.
- Run cycle counts, complete full stocktakes, and carry out ad hoc physical checks when needed.
- Track stock cover and days on hand to reduce the risk of overstocking or stock shortages.
- Handle slow-moving items, discontinued products, and surplus inventory.
- Work closely with warehouse and 3PL partners to ensure correct receiving, quality checks, picking, and dispatch processes.
- Oversee returns, stock transfers, and supplier-related inventory corrections.
- Perform SKU-level analysis to identify risks and areas for improvement.
- Prepare clear inventory performance updates and reports for management.
- Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliation work with finance.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in inventory management.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to work and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive solutions rather than create delays.
- Comfort working with senior executives and handling expectations from multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in a fast-changing environment and learn continuously.
- Strong analytical, communication, and hands-on tool usage skills.
- Good interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to align teams around a common goal.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is highly desirable.
