Reporting Analyst Assistant

About the role

Alpine Business Consulting is helping a Germany-based financial services company bring together scattered reporting systems into one dependable setup. Over time, large enterprises can end up with messy enterprise performance management environments, which leads to mismatched data and slow month-end closes. The project focus here is to streamline those configurations and create a single trusted source of finance data.

As a Reporting Analyst Assistant, you will work alongside senior consultants on everyday system checks and technical documentation. This is a remote, entry-level opportunity for someone who is organized, precise, and interested in understanding how financial information travels through a large organization. You will be learning directly from seasoned professionals in a practical consulting environment.

What you will be doing

• Support senior consultants with the setup of reporting modules and data templates.
• Keep technical documentation updated so client teams can operate the systems after handover.
• Carry out data checks to spot mismatches between older systems and new dashboards.
• Help prepare training content and configuration instructions for finance users.
• Join remote project discussions and help track progress against fixed-price milestones.
• Organize data mapping files so information moves correctly from SAP or Oracle environments into analytics tools.
• Watch data uploads during testing and flag issues before final reports are released.

What we are looking for

• A foundational understanding of accounting or financial reporting from studies or related projects.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and simple pivot tables for comparing data.
• Clear English writing ability for step-by-step documentation and user guides.
• Capability to work on your own in a fully remote setup while staying in touch with the team.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing spreadsheets or system logs for errors.
• Interest in learning enterprise planning and analytics tools such as Oracle EPM or SAP BPC.
• A proactive mindset and the confidence to ask questions when a process or figure seems off.
