Queensland Rail is seeking a permanent Facilities Maintainer to join its Corridor Maintenance Inner North team. This position is based out of Sunshine (Geebung) in Brisbane and involves working as part of a team to support vegetation control, grounds upkeep, and the installation, upkeep, repair, and construction of rail facilities.

Key duties

You will be part of a corridor maintenance team carrying out day-to-day work across Brisbane sites. The work includes both vegetation management and general facilities maintenance activities.

• Attend daily pre-start briefings and receive important safety updates
• Use a work tablet to review assigned tasks and mark work orders as complete
• Carry out mowing, hedging, whipper snipping, and other vegetation control tasks
• Undertake fencing repairs, graffiti removal, and rubbish or waste collection when needed
• Move between multiple locations across Brisbane as required

About you

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with grounds and vegetation maintenance and can work independently while communicating clearly with others.

Additional requirements and hiring notes

• Experience with vegetation control tools and equipment such as whipper-snippers, mowers, chainsaws or pole saws, hedge trimmers, and similar grounds maintenance tools is preferred
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• MR licence is considered an advantage
