Role overview
HTC Global Services is looking for a Data Engineer focused on innovation to support AI-related work in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is an onsite contract role for one year with the possibility of extension. The position calls for a professional with strong hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines.

What you will do
- Work closely with data science teams to understand data needs and make sure the required data is available and reliable.
- Build and refine data processing and transformation workflows that support analysis and model development.
- Track pipeline health and improve performance, scalability, and stability.
- Keep up with current trends, tools, and best practices in data engineering.
- Help shape low-level technical design in line with the overall solution and business goals.
- Participate in an agile team by breaking user stories into practical implementation tasks.
- Look for new frameworks, tools, and process improvements that can make development more efficient.
- Own the quality of your deliverables from start to finish.
- Communicate clearly with team members throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in the airline industry or a comparable domain is preferred.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Practical experience with data processing tools such as Apache Spark.
- Solid understanding of SQL and database systems.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an added advantage.
