Wellness Coach

About the Role

The Grace is recruiting a Wellness Coach for its Westport Estate property in County Mayo. This is a full-time, on-site position connected to a pre-opening hotel launch scheduled for Spring 2026 on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The role is focused on creating a premium, goal-oriented wellness experience for hotel guests and members.

You will provide personalised one-to-one coaching, run small-group fitness activities, and help foster a balanced wellbeing culture across the resort. The position combines fitness coaching, guest service, administration, and support for wider wellness events and promotions.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fitness assessments, introductory consultations, and goal-setting personal training sessions for guests and members.
• Build, deliver, and track tailored training plans covering strength, conditioning, mobility, and functional fitness.
• Facilitate small-group workouts, wellness classes, or workshops when needed.
• Make sure gym equipment is used properly and safely by giving clear demonstrations and guidance.
• Provide consistently high-quality guest service in line with the resort’s wellness and hospitality expectations.
• Keep the gym, studios, and wellness spaces clean, orderly, and well presented.
• Greet guests and members and handle check-ins for the fitness and wellness areas.
• Oversee bookings, schedules, and client information accurately.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries relating to wellness and fitness services.
• Process payments and maintain accurate administrative records.
• Recommend resort wellness services, programmes, and retail items to improve the guest experience.
• Assist with events, retreats, and promotional activities across the wider team.
• Attend training and keep qualifications and certifications current.
• Work positively with colleagues and contribute to a professional, supportive team culture.

Required Experience and Skills

• A recognised personal training qualification is required, such as Ireland’s Level 3 Gym Instructor and Level 4 Personal Trainer certification, or an equivalent credential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a clear focus on guest service.
• The ability to encourage and support clients with different fitness levels and backgrounds.
• Good organisational capability to manage scheduling, programming, and follow-up tasks.
• A reliable, flexible, and team-focused approach with initiative and willingness to contribute to the wellness offering.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in a fitness setting and the ability to manage risk responsibly.
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland.

Preferred Background

• Prior experience as a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, or Wellness Coach in a high-end gym, spa, or resort setting.
• Experience in customer-facing or hospitality roles where excellent service is essential.
• Comfort handling reception or admin duties such as scheduling, bookings, and client communication.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain them.
• A genuine interest in health, wellness, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to lead small-group classes or wellness workshops, with added value from nutrition or lifestyle coaching knowledge and sales awareness for wellness programmes and retail products.
