Software Development Engineer Intern (Full Stack with AI Focus) - Remote

About the Internship

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern who has a solid foundation in React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL and is eager to contribute to building production-grade software. This opportunity involves working on full stack development, including API creation, database modeling, third-party integrations, and front-end features, while leveraging cutting-edge AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini during daily development tasks.

While AI facilitates faster development, core engineering principles remain essential. Interns must thoroughly understand, test, debug, and take ownership of the code they deliver.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Node.js and PostgreSQL.
• Create APIs, design database schemas, and integrate with external services.
• Build end-to-end backend features from conception to production deployment.
• Engage in code reviews and adhere to agile and scrum methodologies.
• Utilize AI coding assistants to enhance code quality and accelerate development.

Frontend Responsibilities:

• Construct and improve user interfaces with React and Redux or Context API.
• Create reusable components and front-end utilities to ensure scalability.
• Convert UI/UX designs and wireframes into maintainable and clean code.
• Debug and optimize frontend for performance, usability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with designers and backend engineers for seamless integration.

AI-Native Engineering:

• Apply AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Windsurf, and similar platforms to boost development efficiency.
• Use AI for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and exploration tasks.
• Critically analyze AI-generated code rather than accepting it without review.
• Stay informed about the latest large language model capabilities and experiment with emerging AI tools to improve engineering productivity.

Candidate Eligibility

The internship welcomes applicants who:

• Are able to work remotely and start between September 4, 2026, and October 9, 2026.
• Can commit to a full-time, six-month internship duration.
• Possess relevant technical skills and interests in software development and AI.

Additional Requirements

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL with the capacity to independently develop features.
• Experience using AI coding tools as part of the daily coding workflow.
• Competence in assessing, debugging, testing, and improving AI-generated code critically.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities paired with a focus on code quality and engineering fundamentals.
• High ownership, accountability, and responsibility regarding assigned tasks and projects.
• Proactive, curious mindset with eagerness to learn, experiment, and contribute meaningfully.
• Ability to efficiently collaborate in a remote, team-oriented setting.

Compensation and Benefits

• The internship offers a stipend of INR 15,000 per month.
• Successful interns receive a certificate, letter of recommendation, and job offer.
• Upon conversion to a full-time employee, annual compensation ranges between INR 600,000 and INR 900,000.
