Position Overview
The Operations Manager will be accountable for the smooth running of daily transportation and logistics activities while guiding a team that is focused on strong customer service and dependable execution. The role requires someone who can improve efficiency, manage client partnerships, solve operational problems, and introduce process enhancements that contribute to both customer success and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the everyday flow of transportation and logistics operations.
- Oversee team output, assign workloads, and support employee growth.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, carriers, and vendor partners.
- Handle transportation and operations issues quickly and effectively.
- Work with other teams to find process improvements and boost operational efficiency.
- Track KPIs and operational data to guide decisions and performance targets.
- Keep communication clear, accurate, and timely with customers, carriers, and suppliers.
- Spot inefficiencies in workflows and apply best practices to lower costs and raise service quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across client supply chains.
- Provide excellent customer support while ensuring operational standards remain high.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though equivalent relevant industry experience may also be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
