Role overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Bengaluru to help create new products and support the current portfolio of electro-mechanical relays used by customers worldwide. This role focuses on turning advanced concepts into practical, production-ready designs.
What you will do
- Create and refine mechanical parts for electro-mechanical relays, with a strong focus on performance and long-term reliability.
- Use proven engineering approaches such as design for manufacturing, design for assembly, design failure mode and effects analysis, and tolerance stack-up studies to improve manufacturability and product strength.
- Prepare complete engineering outputs such as drawings, technical specifications, and bills of material to support production.
- Carry out validation and verification work to confirm the developed components meet requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and quality teams, including on mold development activities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute ideas that strengthen the product lifecycle.
- Follow all relevant internal and external rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Work in line with core values of safety and integrity, taking accountability for your actions while supporting colleagues and the business.
Background and qualifications
- A graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing-oriented research and development.
- Strong capability in 3D modeling and drafting using tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of sheet metals and plastics, including how to choose suitable materials.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly methods.
- Practical experience with prototyping and mechanical testing, including vibration and thermal cycling.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
