Role Overview
malomatia is seeking an Engineer - Network Security to support enterprise networking and security operations in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on maintaining resilient network infrastructure, administering security appliances, handling troubleshooting and incident recovery, and ensuring accurate documentation across production and disaster recovery environments.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or a related engineering field is required.
Preferred Certifications
- Networking and switching certifications such as JNCIS-ENT, including Apstra, QFX, and EVPN/VXLAN JNCIS-DC credentials.
- Security certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4/7, and FTD.
- Load balancer and VPN certifications or exposure related to F5 and Pulse Secure.
- General IT and security certification such as ITIL Foundation.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years of practical experience managing enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Juniper switches in standalone, clustered, and Apstra-managed environments.
- Experience with application-centric switching and automation platforms.
- Working knowledge of Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5 Load Balancers, and Pulse Secure VPN systems.
- Background in 24x7 enterprise or NOC environments, including on-call support.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication capability.
Language Requirement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed for documentation and reporting.
- English is required; Arabic plus English speakers are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain core switching and top-of-rack switching across Cisco and Juniper platforms, including Apstra-driven environments.
- Manage standalone and clustered switch setups to preserve availability and performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static routes.
- Install, rebuild, and recover network devices after failures or crashes.
- Keep production and disaster recovery sites aligned through configuration synchronization and replication.
- Maintain IP addressing plans, VLANs, and NAT rules for connectivity between private and public zones.
- Administer firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers including Palo Alto, Panorama, Fortinet, FortiAnalyzer, Sandbox, F5, and Pulse Secure devices.
- Monitor traffic, security controls, and VPN health to ensure stable operations.
- Carry out firmware upgrades, apply recommended patches, and support vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain SOPs, design documents, and configuration records with a high level of detail.
