Role overview
This position is for an Embedded Software Engineer based in Bangalore or Pune. The role focuses on building and supporting embedded Linux software, device drivers, and board-level software across processor and peripheral subsystems.
Experience
Candidates should bring 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.
Technical requirements
- Strong hands-on programming ability in C and C++.
- Practical experience working with Embedded Linux and Linux device drivers.
- Working knowledge of Yocto, BitBake, OpenEmbedded, and Poky.
- Exposure to ARM or RISC-V processor architectures.
- Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, timers, ADC, and low-level driver work.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel configuration, debugging tools such as GDB and JTAG, Git, and BSP customization.
Responsibilities
- Build and support Embedded Linux applications and system software using C/C++.
- Create, improve, and troubleshoot Linux device drivers.
- Handle board bring-up activities, including U-Boot, Linux kernel setup, and device tree work.
- Develop software support for hardware interfaces and controllers such as SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, timers, interrupts, Ethernet, and PCIe.
- Modify and migrate Yocto/OpenEmbedded build environments, including recipes and layers.
- Investigate build-time and runtime issues while improving overall system performance.
- Work closely with other teams to deliver reliable embedded solutions.
