Role Overview
An onshore Qatar-based opportunity is available for a Senior Process Engineer. The role supports process engineering and flow assurance activities through EPC execution and startup, continuing through handover to the permanent asset team. The objective is to ensure that deliverables align with operations expectations across safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability throughout the full facility lifecycle.
Key Contributions
- Offer senior-level process engineering and flow assurance support during EPC and startup phases.
- Partner with Operations on design reviews, HAZID, SIL, HAZOP, management of change, risk assessments, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, punch list closure, and warranty claim resolution.
- Help strengthen safety and reliability performance through technical recommendations and practical problem solving.
- Assist in creating standard operating procedures for new projects.
- Build and apply process surveillance tools for operational assets in line with the surveillance plan to support safe, dependable, and efficient production.
- Track surveillance findings, investigate deviations, recommend corrective actions, and escalate threats in a timely manner.
- Take part in system completion activities, including pre-commissioning walkdowns and witnessing activities such as chemical or catalyst loading.
- Provide subject matter input to other disciplines and business functions whenever required.
- Support tie-in completion across systems within the assigned scope.
- Maintain an issue register, resolve critical issues, and address new-technology risks that may affect reliability, availability, and cyber security.
- Prepare handover documentation and discipline packages for the operating company after startup.
- Back high-risk commissioning work on complex, large-scale projects by monitoring systems closely, optimizing performance, and advising Operations and Maintenance teams.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, along with at least 6 years of experience in an oil and gas environment. The role calls for strong English communication skills, familiarity with Qatargas and internationally accepted specifications, strong computer literacy, advanced use of relevant engineering software, and solid analytical judgment under pressure.

This position is located onshore in Qatar and is offered on a contract basis.
